Rose Alley - The Narrative in this book is so vivid it paints word pictures so real you can almost touch feel and smell the atmosphere. However, at times it becomes so verbose it practically slips into rhetoric and blank verse. Rose Alley is an engaging read, but not for the feint hearted! The twists and turns fill you with hope and at the same time drag you to the depths of depression. The story ends on a note of hope, but almost only just! Our heroine, Gillyflower Logan is a beautiful, strong-headed, independent business woman, who must make her mark in the world almost at any cost. Angela Ryan the rich adversary should have had a more harsh come-uppance in the end though. If you re into Mills & Boone style romance, then this novel is not for you, but if you like a bit of grit and reality then this book is un-put-downable
