Will please Audrey s loyal fans - Being an Audrey Howard fan, this book did not disappoint. It delivered everything I expect from one of her books. In fact, I thought it was one of her best. You can t help but feel much empathy for both Amy and Joe, the lead female and male characters. Set against a backdrop of Liverpool, Manchester, France during the First World War, and lastly the Lake District, this book is not only a love story but the touching (and admirable) story of how one girl fights for her liberty.
