Brilliant! - I have read a couple of Audrey Howards books, and although I enjoyed them I wouldn t rave much about them. However, this book was brilliant! The differences between the rich and the poor are outstanding, but even the rich have classes of rich! The story between the two main charachters is amazing. There is a love of each other, but a hatred of the class each comes from and the decisions and actions of people in each class that constantly tear the two lovers apart! I really would recomend this book to anyone and I cant wait to read the sequel to it!
A Wonderful Read - I have just started to read Audrey Howard s books and I found The Mallow Years very difficult to put down. The author makes it so easy to visualise everything and takes you to another world of poverty, love and determination to improve the lives of the down trodden mill workers. The Mallow Years is followed by Shining Threads a fantastic sequal.Both books are highley recommended, and I shall be reading many more of Audrey Howards books.
